USF Jazz Orchestra & Jazz Ensemble
The USF Jazz Orchestra, directed by Tom Brantley, and the USF Jazz Ensemble, directed by Ross Strauser, will present their first concert of the fall. Featuring Guest Artist Erica von Kleist. Multi-instrumentalist and educator Erica von Kleist has led many lives as a musician and producer, leading the charge as woodwind specialist, and entrepreneur. After receiving the first jazz bachelor's degree in the history of the Juilliard School, Erica went on to tour and record with luminaries including Wynton Marsalis and Chris Potter, and spent time working on Broadway. As a bandleader Erica has released three albums, one collaboration, and has just launched her latest record "Picc Pocket" featuring Erica on piccolo. She now serves as faculty of the Manhattan School of Music and Artist-in-Residence at Williams. The USF Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble are USF's premier and second jazz big bands. Both 20-piece ensembles perform classic and contemporary jazz arrangements and compositions. Reserve a free ticket in advance, with the option to add a donation. Contributions at any level help ensure Arts Unbound events remain free and accessible for all. Seating is guaranteed until 5 minutes before the show start time. Afterwards, tickets will be released to patrons waiting in line. The lobby will open 1 hour prior to the event, and the hall will open approximately 30 minutes before the performance. By reserving a free ticket, you may receive updates and news about future events and experiences happening at the USF College of Design, Art & Performance. Thank you.
